About Rehema Muthamia
My name is Rehema Muthamia, I am 25 years old, and I work as a Health Technology Consultant. I was born in the UK, but I am of Kenyan heritage and immensely proud to represent both cultures. I have a Masters degree in Genetics and I am passionate about advocating for increased representation of ethnic minorities within the STEM field.
I would like to be Miss England because I believe that I could be a great role model to young women in England. I would also like to showcase the incredible diversity we have within this country. I was motivated following the wins of two black women in the worlds most famous beauty pageants – Zozibini Tunzi (Miss Universe 2019) and Toni-Ann Singh (Miss World 2019). Seeing two black women in such a prestigious position, was awe-inspiring and led me to also believe and have the confidence to apply to Miss England. I hope to use my platform in Miss England to advocate not only for increased representation and diversity of minority ethnic women within the beauty space but also to champion BAME within the STEM field and to fight for the safety and rights of women and children affected by domestic abuse.
